From Main to Colorado.

After four months of living on Main Street, Josh and I decided to move 670 miles to Tennessee.  Although the decision was difficult as it involved leaving family, our community, and both of our jobs, we saw the transition as an adventure and as a pursuit of a dream.  We moved with many unknowns, but with intact intentions to complete Vanderbilt University’s accelerated M.S.N. program.

After 11 hours of driving and pulling our little U-Haul, we arrived at our final destination.  Our new Tennessee landlord loudly welcomed us saying, "Welcome to Nashville!" with his southern drawl as we opened the car doors to stretch our legs.  Soon after we arrived, an old nursing friend of mine stopped by with housewarming gifts: bottled water, popsicles, and the some furniture arrangement advice.  After much work and unpacking, we settled into our quaint, very little apartment on Colorado Ave where we would never be far apart. :)

Colorado Ave is lined with aged oak and cypress trees and traveled by many stroller-pushers and dog-walkers.  We are nestled in a quiet, tranquil pocket only 2 miles away from Vanderbilt and the bustling downtown area.  Since settling in, Josh and I have ventured upon many evening strolls along the neighboring streets.  While we walk, we admire the landscape and discuss the day's happenings or future plans.  God has blessed us with our apartment and it has become our home away from home in many ways.  Here are a few views of our new neighborhood.

Main Street Life.

Josh and I first resided on Main Street in our home town as newlyweds.  A friend of ours owns some apartments in the area and graciously offered to be our landlord and accommodate our housing need.  It was here that we organized our first kitchen, had friends and family visit, worked our first post-college jobs, and ate lots of yummy zucchini from our first garden.  Main Street was where we first lived together as husband and wife and where the Lord started to build a foundation for our marriage.  Welcome to our blog and very first post!
