Spring is in the air.

I had a day off of work and decided the blog needed to be resurrected.  Here is the DIY project I found on Pinterest today.  Thank you to this blog:  http://letsdothisblog.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/diy-canvas-bird-art/

1.  Start with a canvas.  This one I had in our closet.  Then paint the canvas the color of your choice.  I decided to follow the above blog's instructions and painted mine brown, striving for the "tree bark" look.  Let the paint dry.

2.  Next, I found a printable bird template online and made a few adjustments.  You can check out this website: http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/bird_template.htm.  For those of you who are more artistic, you could draw your own bird free-hand. 

3.  Pick out some pretty scrapbook paper, I chose three patterns. Use the template to cut out a scrapbook paper bird.  Flip the template over and cut out another scrapbook paper bird.  I did draw and cut out a scrapbook paper branch and heart free-hand. :)

4.  Trace birds, branch, and heart on cardboard and cut out. 

5.  Then use hot glue to attach all the cut-outs to the cardboard.  Glue everything to the canvas.
