Smell. Fresh
pine in the living room. Wassail
warming in the slow cooker.
Tradition. Growing
up, my parents gave us a new Christmas ornament each year. The ornament usually represented an
aspect of our character or a hobby that we focused on that year. Josh and I have started embracing this
tradition as well.
Movie. Elf. I cannot watch this movie without laughing
hysterically and there are so many good quotes from the movie. “I just like to smile! Smiling’s my
favorite.” “Watch out, the yellow
ones don’t stop!” “I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest,
through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then I walked through the
Lincoln Tunnel.” Our
friends, Mark and Emily, have introduced us to National Lampoon’s Christmas
Vacation.
This movie is also hilarious and may become an annual view. I am not sure how we missed this one
all this time.
Memory. I will always have fond memories of going to
Christmas Eve services. I enjoy
singing Christmas music and hymns and rehearsing the Christmas story
collectively as a Church body.
Sight. I enjoy driving around in a warm vehicle with the
sole purpose to admire Christmas lights.
Growing up, my parents would drive through the streets of Lancaster
County to look at Christmas lights -They naturally knew all the hot spots. This year, Josh entertained my
ambitions and we made a few loops around our end of town.
Josh and I have been busy decking the halls.
